This destination is one of the finest and the largest example of European Funerary monument in the subcontinent. The college is worth a visit just to admire the exquisite architecture of the building and to learn about its history. Located on the banks of River Gomti this place was built and designed in the 19th century as the country residence of Major General Claude Martin, who was a Frenchman and worked for the British East India Company. This place incorporates the architectural features of Italian architecture, fusing them with native architectural attributes of Hindu and Mughal architecture. Martin’s tomb is also located here in an underground mausoleum. Now this place is an educational institute in the city.
